Winter Warmth?- We’ve Got You Covered

T-shirts? Yeah, we still got ‘em. layer ‘em. Hoodies? Of course, It’s chilly!

Now about that hoodie. . . The best way to describe it is cozy. The kind of hoodie the captain of the football team wore.

All the other guys in school made sure to get the exact same kind. The girls immagined themselves wrapped up in a borrowed one by the fire on the ski-club trip.

The kind that’s now available for you to customize with your favorite designs. Just select pullover hoodie and get it in white, heather gray, and kelly green.

Free Book with Order: Generation T – 108 ways to transform a T-shirt(while our supply lasts)

Order $85 or more and we’ll send you this awesome book (a $14.99 value) with helpful ideas on how to retire some of your older tees.

From the publisher:
This inspirational guide with DIY attitude has everything you need to know about the world’s great T-shirt: how to cut it, sew it, deconstruct it, reconstruct it, and best of all, transform it.

* Features more than 100 projects (plus 200 variations) for customized tees, tank tops, tube tops, T-skirts—even handbags, a patchwork blanket, iPod cozies, leg warmers, and more.
* Not a DIY expert? Not to worry. More than one third of the projects are no sew, meaning anyone who can wield a pair of scissors can put a personal stamp on her wardrobe. But the sewing basics are here too: backstitch and whipstitch, gather and ruche, appliqué and drawstrings.
* And the mission statement for Generation T: Ask not what your T-shirt can do for you; ask what you can do for your T-shirt. And then Do-It-Yourself!

A Reminder About Copyright

Growing Pains wasn’t just a great show starting Kirk Cameron and Alan Thicke. I know this because we’ve been experiencing our own growing pains at Skreened! One thing that means is we’re on high alert for any unlicensed material uploaded to the site.

Not only is it a huge legal liability for us, but it crowds out the hard work of our other users who have created hilarious characters, funny phrases and innovative designs to sell in our marketplace.

If you have unlicensed material in your store, consider this a friendly reminder to head on over there and remove it. If we get to it before you do, you risk forfeiting your commissions on that item and depending on the severity of the problem, even the closure of your account, YIKES! It’s not to be jerks, but allowing that stuff could put us all in legal trouble.

You’ll also notice we’ve added a report this image link to the product description pages to help our community keep each other’s work on the up-and-up.

What is a Choonimal?

Choonimals are animals/creatures/abominations from an otherwise normal animal kingdom. They are also our featured store this season.

Every one has fangs, eyes more crooked than Don Vito, and sometimes a spiked, sparkler-looking tail. They all look rabid and ravenous, but somehow still cute enough to share a pillow with.

Welcome the Choonimals at Skreened.

Stuff we love: Paul Robinett Candles

I’ve been in love with Paul Robinett candles for exactly 2 years now. I ran into Paul, the budding YouTube celebrity, in Columbus at one of our Gallery Hops. After that, he featured Skreened in one of his videos and our web traffic spiked. It was a beautiful day (and I say day because this is more or less the nature of internet traffic spikes).

2 weeks ago I found myself back at Paul Robinett’s shop in the Short North hanging out with Darren, the manager, as a scent slinger apprentice. It reminded me of the all the romance they pack into such a beautifully small aromatherapy candle.

Well, they’ve got a newly launched website with 70 fragrant, soy-based candles and FREE SHIPPING. Perhaps a bundled a candle with your Skreened shirt would make a great gift this holiday season.

I recommend: #14 – Evergreen and #55 – Champa

Honest Reflections on a 3 Year Old Business

Measuring life in years is a funny thing. When you’re a kid, waiting for the clock in the classroom to move you to the next class can be excruciating. As a kid, years seemed to go by so slowly.

Now, as an adult, I’m the proud papa of a 15 month-old little girl, and a 3 year old little business. I have quite the opposite sentiment. Life goes by more quickly than I often feel I’m ready for.

I was thrilled to make it through the first year of Skreened. Now, at the 3 year mark, someone tells me that making it 5 years is the real test of wit. Great! Yet another mile marker I have to pass before I can stop worrying!

So, without making this anecdote too long, here’s what I’ve got for us:
Every worthwhile endeavor requires a measure of integrity and responsibility. As the endeavor grows, it requires even more of those things from you. Sometimes you can skate along for a while, but eventually, creating something great for the world often demands you to be great.

That’s been my experience, anyway. For those of you who are up to great things in the world and find yourself squeezed on all sides, take comfort that you will come out better for it on the other end.

Much love and respect to you world changers from all of us at Skreened and most notably yours,
-Daniel

Top Five Indicators that it’s time to retire your tee shirt.

. . . and to finish off our sporadic email I present you with a guest article by irreverent blogger Holy Juan

1. There are two holes worn through where your less mature friends have given you purple nurples.
2. Its message hails the breakthrough speed of the 2400 baud modem.
3. It’s covered with signatures from everyone you met the night of senior pub crawl… ten years ago.
4. Magic-markered with the name “John Wilkes Boothe.” It was the only costuming your junior high history group presentation could afford.
5. All 3 bank sponsors of the 5k advertised on the front have since gone bankrupt.

Sometimes an old shirt is the best shirt. They bring comfort and a sense of history. Maybe that’s why so many people design shirts to look like old ones. I still have a t-shirt from my first march ever, 20 years ago. I’ve kept it long enough for it to be retro.

Congratulations on three years!
